On our last day we took it easy with a Beach day. We drove out around noon so the sky was finally starting to clear and went to Corona Del Mar which is only about 30 minutes from Annaheim and still stunning!
We even saw a baby seal taking a nap on the rocks! Wildlife ya!
There's Big Corona Del Mar which is a bit more like a Boardwalk but if you search for "little" its right around the ridge and you do have to walk down a hill from a residential area to get to it but hey parking is free and there's a bunch of rocks and fun sea caves to explore!
It was sunny and even the wind died down making it a PERFECT beach day! We climbed around on the rocks the majority of the time we were there but I also got to lay out in the sun and Braden waded in the water... (which as always was WAY too cold for me... sorry California but swimming is a losing battle at your beaches)
We hung around just long enough for the boys to get sun burned and then headed back to our hotel to swim at the pool.
We stayed at the Motel 8 which is prob a 10-15 minute walk to Disney's Gates but it was great! The room and beds were nice, it had a free breakfast which included waffles, toast, oranges, juice, cold cereal, yogurt, and packaged pastries (which we always pocketed a few extra to snack on in the park) and it didn't charge any extra fees to park there or for breakfast OR for WIFI! And the pool while being a little small was great as well!. I'd recommend it :)
While at the hotel I had to take care of some business involving closing on my house (not 24 hours from the time I'd be getting back home) and that took about an hour. Then we went to Bubba Gump ( prob my FAV sea food restaurant ever) which was right next door to our hotel! SCORE! (note: it is a little pricey but so worth it at least once..)
We capped off our trip with one more return visit to Downtown Disney so I could pin trade in some of the shops (I got some really cool ones BTW) and watched the 4th Pirates of the Carribbean movie in our hotel room before hitting the sack.
It was a spectacular California Adventure! I'd do it again for sure :)
