On to the next adventure. As always during the second week of October (around the 11-13th) Braden and I do our Stewart Falls hike! This was our 3rd year going and was just before we got... engaged! (more to come on that later!) The temperature was perfect fall and the colors were starting to fade away with late fall temperatures. This year I was a little disappointed to find the upper falls wimpy... (I mean just look in this picture!) But the lower falls were still glorious! And still this is one of my favorite hikes ever! And of course we climbed up to explore the little pool in the middle and hung out for a while! It was a great anniversary of our very first date! (I call it the "friendship anniversary" as it was also the first time we ever hung out and lead to the best friend I ever had!) We finished off a great hike with amazing pizza and relaxing at home! :)

Finally got one of my big bucket list hikes done! Kanarraville Creek/ Falls! This one is just north or Kolob Canyon and costs a $10 parking fee which goes to porter potties (which I was grateful for) and maintenance of the trail. For years I've heard so many amazing things about this trail and I was just ready to do it so I'm glad we had time on this trip! We were chased by rain almost all weekend but luckily it never did sprinkle on us on this trip. You start off with a slight climb up into the canyon itself. Once you reach the creek the trail pretty much is the creek. You can walk in and out of the water but wear water shoes. ALSO be warned that this water was COLD! It kind of hurts your feet after a while even... To the right: is one of the first of many creek crossings we made. I love the mountain behind me! Then you enter sort of a wider canyon which is beautiful with towering walls, holes in the rock to explore, and of course plants! Ah the first of ma

Whew so we're going to skip the cruise for a bit and just move on to my road trip with some friends to St. George! 1st stop? the Kayenta Trail otherwise known as Hell's Hole! This is a spectacular area outside of any park and free! You get great red rock views without the crowds? Need you want more? The start of the trail is a bit tricky to find as the roads are narrow and there's a small parking area at the bottom of the wash on Taviawk Drive. Essentially though you follow the grand wash all the way in. I love how tall these beautiful red cliffs are! It's about a 3 mile in, 3 mile out trip and at certain points of the year there's a waterfall that cascades into the wash. While we didn't see a waterfall,we did see a little pond with water (must be the season) This rock formation was definitely my favorite. Oh ya.. and this became the theme of the trip as my friend Alicia was hiking with her boyfriend Kevin... and I was missing

YAY here's to my first outing in the High Uintas! We went with some friends on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in August and while it wasn't warm enough to get in the water! It was perfect for a picnic and exploring! 1st and only stop was Provo River Falls... I know what you're thinking.. is that near Provo? NO! It's in the HIGH uintas. Meaning way up past Heber and Kamas. Quite the ways if you ask me which is why I have yet to go back but... one of these days I'll be back with my boys! The falls just kept going although these are probably the main ones. They look manmade you say? Well they're not! Nature is beautiful! Get outside! You could follow the river miles  and never cease to have beautiful cascades and waterfalls at your side. Seriously if you haven't already.. make the drive. These were the lower falls. We crossed a little in front of them to go explore the other side.. and that water was coldddd! And of course I had to hang my

Sorry I've taken 100 years to update this blog but it's been a busy Fall! I've definitely had plenty of adventures so let's get going! First up is my journey with Braden and my Ollie boy up Box Elder Peak! We went sometime in the early Fall/ late summer (thinking the last week in August or so) while it was still pretty warm out. Here's some background info before I get into the nitty gritty: Trail is roughly 3.5 miles there and 3.5 back Elevation gain is 4,300 feet and there's a bit of up and down involved. In other words... it is mostly just constant up hill until you reach the end and you feel like you've never climbed anything so steep. The trail starts at the entrance to Granite Flat Campground up past Tibble Fork Reservoire in AF Canyon. You start out essentially in the trees with beautiful pines and aspen groves. AND you don't see a soul pretty much the whole time you're hiking, even on a SUNDAY!  Ollie LOVED chasing the birds and s
