This past weekend we went to Zion National Park with our friends Megan and Kyler before they move to Idaho :/ It wasn't the big long week trip I was hoping for, but we at least got to do 2 of the most famous hikes and we really enjoyed it!

We camped 2 nights for free only like 5 minutes from the park entrance. We drove down Friday and set up camp. We weren't tired till later so we stayed up and looked at the stars! It was so dang clear! Probably the best star gazing I've ever done! And Megan had astronomy lasers which were awesome! Have to get some of those....

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to the Zion outfitters. They're surprisingly cheap, although Ty and I are cheaper and decided to just go with the shoes we brought (no super nerdy- yet awesome water shoes for us) Then we boarded the shuttle to ride it allll the way to the end to do... THE NARROWS

Above: Tyler climbed up into the hole which was kinda hard because the water dropped off right in front of it and was a little deep. I climbed up there to but don't have a picture of it yet.

Right: Tyler climbed up on a boulder so we could get the towering walls above us: coolest part about the Narrows.
Left: coolest part of the Narrows: right past Orderville Canyon on the right, the canyon gets more narrow and the water a little faster. Unfortunately the water wasn't as deep as it usually is (swimming and shoulder length) it only came up to our midthighs- or hips mostly. Still cool though.
I thought these boulders laying around were cool so I climbed up to take a picture. My legs were so tired I sat down too fast on a sharp rock and bruised my bum and almost toppled off the rock! It was pretty funny though no for my bum.

We hiked about 4 miles up stream and up orderville making our total trip distance around 10 miles there and back.
On the way back we saw this cool hole in the wall so Tyler climbed up in it! Of course Boys will be boys
Here I am as far as I would go. (Note: you can see where Ty climbed up to the right) I didn't have close to as good of traction as Ty did so I didn't risk it.
And more climbing near the end! Tried to get up in the giant crack but it was a little too slippery... ah well. We had a couple injuries in our group (sprained ankles) and lot's of cramping.  It took all day but that's what made our tinfoil dinners at our campsite so awesome! It was an early night for everyone, but Ty and I stayed up playing cards in our tent.
Saturday night someone came by and said where we were camping is no longer allowed and that we'd probably be ok since the Park Rangers had turned in for the weekend, but it would be good to get our early the next day... SO Sunday we woke up bright and early at 6, quickly packed up camp, and headed to a park to eat breakfast. Then we had lot's of time before we wanted to go to the park so we went to Grafton Ghost Town! Here we are in front of the Mansion house!

Then there was the school/ church which you could only look through the windows. I took a picture in front celebrating only a year left of school! Woohoo!

Unfortunately security had increased in the town and all the places were still locked up (maybe we were too early?) So we only got to look at the outsides.
In case you care to read about it... It really was a neat little town!
